The Open Road

Every Sunday during the spring, summer, and fall, a section of Memorial Drive (next to the Harvard campus) is closed to cars... turns into a pedestrian only area. Last Sunday was one of the last days of the year that it will remain closed to cars (kind of sad).

Regardless, I'm pretty stoked that the city of Cambridge would do this. I usually do my grocery shopping on Sunday... and it allows me an easy bike commute to Whole Foods & Trader Joe's. It's also interesting to see the road covered in leaves during the fall. With cars zipping past, you don't notice things like that.

July 7, 2011

4th of July crowds on Cambridge side of Charles River... anxiously awaiting fireworks display. Overall, crowd was pretty mellow. There were a lot of families and smart kids from MIT hanging out (only a few extremely drunk people).

SHELL

I'm definitely not a fan of big oil companies... nor do I like Shell. However, this is still a pretty rad structure. It's situated right along Memorial Drive in Cambridge... and has been there for ages. It looks like something that was constructed during the 60s. I think it's pretty cool.
