Puddle of Leaves

As I was walking along the Charles River, I noticed a puddle of leaves under one of the trees. I loved all of the colors mixed together and the light shining down upon it. Thought it looked pretty cool.

Red Leaf

Sunset along the Charles illuminating one of the few red leaves left on the tree.

The Fall

As I was walking around Cambridge this weekend, I could barely see the ground in some spots... about 95% of the leaves are now off the trees. It's definitely evident in the pictures I took. On the first one, you can see that the bench is almost entirely covered. Bring on winter and snowboarding season!

Late Autumn Sunset

We had a lovely Sunday in Boston... temperature was above 60 degrees. However, even with the warmth, you're reminded that winter is rapidly approaching. All the trees are now barren and the sun goes down earlier and earlier each day. These are a couple images I took right before the sun vanished.

A Late Fall Afternoon on the Charles

On the almost fully repaired Boston University bridge looking out over the Charles River towards Boston's skyline. It's quite a beautiful view. This shot was taken on a late afternoon in the fall with the sun behind me. You can notice many trees along the river have already changed color. The sailboats were out in full effect this day.

Back to Boston

Had a great trip to Miami... but back in Boston now. Greeted with some lovely fall colors.

Reflections and Color

Reflections and color... hard to believe that I took this photo at a spot in the middle of the city of Boston.

The Open Road

Every Sunday during the spring, summer, and fall, a section of Memorial Drive (next to the Harvard campus) is closed to cars... turns into a pedestrian only area. Last Sunday was one of the last days of the year that it will remain closed to cars (kind of sad).

Regardless, I'm pretty stoked that the city of Cambridge would do this. I usually do my grocery shopping on Sunday... and it allows me an easy bike commute to Whole Foods & Trader Joe's. It's also interesting to see the road covered in leaves during the fall. With cars zipping past, you don't notice things like that.

Red Leaves, Blue Skies, Can't Lose

I was really happy how this picture came out... bright red leaves in the foreground, bright blue sky in the background, and some leaves/branches out of focus in between. It's definitely a bit more "artsy" than most of my photos.

A Floating Tree

This photo was taken along the Charles River bike path near Harvard. I loved how this tree was floating in a pond of multi-colored leaves... overall, the colors came out really nice and the red leaves added made it more vibrant.

Reflections & Puddles

After a heavy rain storm, puddles form wherever there is an indentation in the concrete (which happens to be quite a few places in Boston). Usually, these puddles are a nuisance... however, during the fall time, they can turn into a work of art (if you look at them a certain way). The mixture of the fallen leaves, reflections, and colors make for a beautiful image. These are a few puddles I found walking around Harvard Square.

Autumn Abstract

I was walking through the park and was surround by amazing colors. Instead of taking a standard/crisp photograph, I decided to try and create an abstract image by adding a motion blur. I think it came out pretty interesting.

Falling Back to Boston

Had a lovely trip to Northern California... but now it's time to be back in New England and enjoy the fall season. Leaves in the process of changing along the Charles River Esplanade.

The Esplanade Colors

Relaxing along the Charles River Esplanade... a preview of the fall colors yet to come.

Autumn at the Boston Public Gardens

Relaxing under a tree in the Boston Public Gardens. As you can see, some of the trees are starting to change color.

I actually had to wait in a bit of a line to take this picture. There were a group of people lined up under this tree shooting away... I'm sure if you do a google image search right now, you'll find a bunch of images that look similar. Nonetheless, I like it!

The Hiding Sun

As I hide in the shade, the sun peaks out from behind the clouds... a brief moment of sun in an otherwise cloudy afternoon.

Autumn Canopy

The fall colors are starting to show. I rode my bike to the Boston Public Gardens on a beautiful fall day and saw some nice colors in the trees. I've always been a big fan of fall (especially when I lived out west... best time of year for surf). However, not such a fan of the New England winters.

Autumn is in the Wind

I was walking around Harvard Square last week and happened to run into a Taiwanese couple that was completely lost. They wanted to know where to find a statue of some guy that they can rub feet for good luck (they were referring to the John Harvard statue in Harvard Yard). Anyways, I had nothing to do and the weather was nice... so I thought I would walk them over. I ended up being their tour guide for the next hour and a half. I know absolutely nothing about the historical significance of buildings at Harvard, but I just pointed at the buildings and said "very old". They seemed impressed. They also took a bunch of picture of the leaves. Very friendly people... and an interesting way to spend part of my afternoon.

These are a couple pictures I took while walking around with them.

Purple Door

I'm not quite sure why, but I really love the entrance to this house.
