Picture taken in Sai Kung during a "junk boat" trip. I really like how the color of the sky faded from left to right... sun setting to the left and a little rainstorm to the right.

So instead of posting a photo, I posted a video this time... kind of an iMovie 101 training for me. The video is a montage of the various sunsets I saw while at Kandooma Resort (in Maldives). Hope you enjoy!

Picture taken during the "HONK parade" in Harvard Square. The parade happens every year during Oktoberfest... people march from Davis Square to Harvard Square. It's very unique.

Picture taken at Kandooma Resort in the Maldives. The colors were really cool as the sun went down... thunder clouds in the background with sunshine in the foreground. The reflection in the lagoon was pretty rad too.

Another image from the Maldives. This picture was taken from a little sandbar that formed during lowtide... and was a half mile from land. I swam there once, but this time I took a little kayak. The paddle out to the sandbar was very difficult (there are lots of strong currents between islands), but it was worth it! All I could hear was the sounds of the ocean.

Days 67 to 76. Some of my favorite pictures from the Maldives... I wasn't in the Maldives for this entire time, but I needed more than 7 days to show my favorite pictures.
The Maldives are a magical place... it's one of the top 101 places to go before you die. It's also one of the only countries in the world that has more boats than cars.

The Seven Star lake in Zhaoqing, China... very beautiful and serene. It's a nice break from the "hustle & bustle" of Dongguan and Guangzhou.

The "ginormous" OYC hotel as seen from the outside on a damp morning (looks a little creepy). Prior to taking this picture, I got bitten by 15 mosquitoes and had 7 motorcycle drivers offer me a ride around the lake.

The view from the self-proclaimed '7 star' OYC Hotel (aka mosquito hotel). It's actually quite a breathtaking view when it's not too smoggy. However, the OYC is just a super weird hotel. It is either completely filled with people or completely empty. Apparently, it hosts some government functions (which causes it to get full). When it's empty, it feels like a reenactment of "The Shining"... because it's just so massive and creepy. A few of the creepy things listed below:
-In order to get to the gym area, you need to go through a giant/underground maze that leads you past a "cavernous pool" (a pool designed to look like you're in a cave). When you get to the end, they have a large cafeteria set up that is always empty.
-The breakfast buffet has a giant fish tank in the middle of it... with a woman swimming in a mermaid costume.
-There's a slight mosquito problem in the rooms... because the maids are kind enough to turn off your air conditioning and open your doors when you leave for the day (which can also cause your sheets to get damp if it's humid enough outside).

Kind of a silly photo... it shows all the awesome "treats" I get when I travel to China. I have no idea what any of those things are, but some actually taste quite good.

Another image from the temple in Zhongshan, China... very beautiful scenery (some photoshop effects added)
September 12, 2010
I thought it was fitting that since I was in just landed in China, I show a picture I took of an old Chinese temple in Zhongshan... messed around with Photoshop a bit on this picture.

A lovely evening in Boston... sailing boats out en masse! I really liked the reflection of the white boat on water. Taken during the final days of summer in 2010.

Going back into my photo archives, I found this amazing sunset picture from Playa Montelimar in Nicaragua. This place was amazing...

I'm not always the most patriotic of people, but I thought this picture came out really cool. Was taken at the lighthouse on Point Judith. I just really liked the colors and the brightness.

Blinded by the light!.. setting sun in Boston. During a certain time of year and a certain time of day, the sun creates a unique glowing sensation off the John Hancock Tower.

Another picture from hurricane Earl. Winds were super strong offshore on Saturday. In this particular shot, we have a longboarder dropping in and holding his line... I think he made it. I really liked the colors in the water as well.
